From Here to Eternity เป็นเรื่องที่มีตัวเอกคือ พลทหาร Robert E. Prewitt (Cliff Montgomery)เรียกย่อๆว่า Prew ที่ร้องขอให้ทางการย้ายตัวเองมาประจำค่ายทหาร Schofield ณ เกาะฮาวายในปี 1941 เจ้านายใหม่ของเขาร้อยเอก Dana Holmes พยายามบังคับให้ชายหนุ่มเข้าร่วมทีมชกมวย แต่ได้การปฏิเสธ เพราะพริวตั้งปณิธานจะเลิกชกมวยตลอดชีวิต ด้วยความสำนึกผิดที่ไปชกเพื่อนตาบอดโดยไม่ตั้งใจระหว่างซ้อมมวย เขาจึงถูกพวกลูกน้องของโฮล์มส์กลั่นแกล้งด้วยวิธีต่างๆนาๆ ในขณะที่ตัวเอกของเรื่องอีกคนหนึ่งคือจ่า Milton Warden ได้ทำการสวมเขาเป็นชู้กับภรรยาของโฮล์มส์คือ Karen Holmes (Deborrah Kerr) ที่เคยแสดงในเรื่อง The King and I และ An Affair to Remember) ทั้งสองคนก็คือคู่ชายหญิงที่กอดจูบกันริมชายหาดอย่างที่ว่าไว้ตอนต้นนั้นแหละ มีหนังในยุคหลังหลายเรื่องเลียนแบบฉากๆนี้รวมไปถึง Animation ชื่อดัง อย่างเช่น Shrek 2 ลองนึกภาพพระเอกยักษ์คือ Shrek กับเจ้าหญิงยักษ์ Fiona ทำเช่นนั้นด้วยพุงใหญ่ ๆ ที่แนบชิดกันแล้วดูน่ารักอย่าบอกใคร….
